Pastoral Guidelines for All Saint Matthew Coaches
- Each and every practice will begin with a prayer and end with a prayer. No exceptions. You may even wish to designate a particular player or players to lead the prayer before and after practice.
- Each and every game will begin with a prayer and end with a prayer. No exceptions.
- Each team is to attend the 9:00 am Mass together (in uniform or jersey if possible) on the first Sunday of each month (September - May). Obviously, there will be exceptional circumstances in which someone may be unable to attend. But as a rule, attendance should be encouraged and emphasized. Team prayers will follow Mass at Mary's Altar.
Coaching Guidelines
The Head Coach is expected to be familiar with all regulations of the ICCL and St. Matthew Cathedral School, and to conduct his/her program within these guidelines. The Head Coach is also responsible for the following:

- Responsible for locker room supervision before an after each practice and game.

Athlete Guidelines
- All athletes are expected to represent themselves and St. Matthew in a courteous manner.
- Especially all St. Matthew student-athletes are expected to exert a positive influence on their fellow students at all athletic functions and at all other school sponsored events.
- As a member of the ICCL, it should be clear that St. Matthew is governed by the ICCL rules and regulations and is determined to uphold those regulations in letter and spirit.
- All athletic awards given by St. Matthew remain the property of St. Matthew School and may be withdrawn from the person to whom they have been awarded, for due cause, while that person is a student at St. Matthew School.
- The St. Matthew Athletic President ad the Principal will investigate and examine all cases involving the conduct unbecoming a St. Matthew student-athlete and will decide the action(s) to be taken with regard to withdrawal of athletic awards and a suspension of athletic eligibility.
- In order to clarify what constitutes unbecoming behavior for the St. Matthew student, we cite the following:
- the known use of drugs, alcoholic beverages or cigarettes.
- a proven act of theft or vandalism to school or student property.
- Other forms of misconduct for which awards may be withdrawn and/or eligibility suspended for a period of at least one semester may include:
- public fighting during or after a school sponsored event.
