and Who Is To Come"

Everyone is welcome to participate in this special week of prayer, spiritual renewal and fellowship - child, teen and adult.  We will gather each night at 7:00pm - each night includes an hour of beautiful music, singing, prayer, a reflection by the guest speaker and time for quiet reflection with social receptions following (except for Wednesday, where an opportunity for Reconciliation will take place). 

Monday, November 30  -  FAITH

Fr. Jim Shafer – Pastor, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish
Father Jim Shafer was ordained into the priesthood in 1975. He served as Associate Pastor at St. Charles and St. Joseph, Fort Wayne. He also served six years as religion teacher and chaplain at Bishop Dwenger High School. He has been the pastor of St. Bavo, Mishawaka and is the current pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton’s Parish, Fort Wayne. Father has a Masters degree in Sacred Scripture from Athenaeum of Ohio and a Masters degree in Applied Spirituality from the University of San Francisco.

Monsignor Bill Schooler – Pastor, St. Pius X Parish
Monsignor Bill was ordained into the priesthood in 1974, graduating from St. Mary’s Seminary with a Master of Arts Degree in Theology. He served as Associate Pastor at St. Matthew Cathedral in South Bend and St. Monica Church in Mishawaka.  He served as Pastor of St. Paul of the Cross Parish in Columbia City and at St. Jude Church in Fort Wayne. He is currently the pastor of St. Pius X Parish, Granger.

Fr. Bob VanKempen – Pastor, St. Mary of the Annunciation
Father Bob was ordained into the priesthood at St. Matthew Cathedral, South Bend in 1993. He has served as the Associate Pastor of St. Jude, Fort Wayne and St. Matthew Cathedral, South Bend. In 1997, Father Bob was appointed pastor of St. Joseph, Hessen Cassel, Fort Wayne. He is currently the pastor of St. Mary of the Annunciation Church in Bristol, IN.

Closing Mass
Most Reverand Bishop John M. D’Arcy
Bishop D’Arcy was ordained into the priesthood in Massachusetts in 1957. He served as parish priest and had the opportunity to study in Rome. He acted as Spiritual Director at St. John’s Seminary in Brighton, MA. Following his ordination as Auxiliary Bishop in Boston in 1975, he established the Office of Spiritual Development in the diocese. In 1985, Bishop D’Arcy was installed as Bishop of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend where he also created a Spiritual Development Office in 1986.

Nursery Care and Children's Mission

  • Child care will be provided each evening from 7-8pm at no cost from infants through pre-school age children in the church basement.  Healthy snacks and a craft will be offered each night.
  • A Children's Mission is included each night from 7-8pm for grades K-2 in the church basement.  Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, the children will participate in an activity, healthy snack, and a movie or craft in the church basement.  On Wednesday night, after meeting in the church basement, children will participate in a program at the Cathedral Center based on the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. There will also be a healthy snack and craft offered this night.

 

Additional Activities and Services

  • All other parish and school activities will be suspended so that everyone, young and old, can together participate in this Mission.
  • Books and spiritual reading will be for sale the final evening in the Gym in conjuntion with the reception.
  • If you need transportation assistance, please contact the rectory at 289-5539 to schedule a ride.
  • If you would like to volunteer for the Mission, please fill out our Volunteer Form and place it in the collection basket or return it to the Rectory.
