St. Vincent de Paul Society
Vincentians serve Jesus by serving the poor through home visits, delivering food or vouchers for clothing and furniture. Others give their support by providing food items, volunteering time in the pantry, office or thrift store, or with monetary donations.

Ironwood Ministers
Volunteers facilitate the wheelchair-bound and other handicapped residents of the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center to get from their rooms to the congregation area for a weekly Mass. Anointing of the Sick is also offered quarterly.

Southfield Village Ministers
Residents are able to partake in weekly worship and a full Communion Service, due to the aid of St. Matthew parishioners. Our deacon then visits the sick with blessings and prayers.

Right to Life
Organized Right to Life activities at St. Matthew Cathedral include the National Life Chain, the Prayer Service next to the Abortion Clinic, the Mother's Day flower sale, the St. Joseph County Right to Life membership dinner, the annual fund-raiser, and the collection of signatures and donations for the ”Tribune’s” Pro- Life Educational ad. Other events include the Knights of Columbus walk, the Prayer Vigil and Mass, and the walk around the Federal Courthouse.

Health Care Ministry
Parishioners who volunteer to assist the homebound, those hospitalized and those in nursing homes with blood pressure screenings, educational programs on health issues and other needs.

An organization that involves such activities as field trips, service projects, crafts, and working out of the scouting book to earn patches.
