St. Matthew Cathedral Parish is a welcoming Roman Catholic church in South Bend, Indiana serving as the co-cathedral for the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend under Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades.  We are rooted in worship of the Father, through the Son, in the power of the Holy Spirit, through honoring the Eucharist in Holy Mass.  As we open our hearts to growth in holiness we in turn reach out in charitable service to the poor.

Group for Unemployed/Under-Employed Parishioners
This group meets at 10:30am on Tuesdays in the Cathedral Center.  If you are looking for work, we hope you will join us. Among our members, we have several types of experiences and interests from accounting to warehousing, supported by varied levels of education, training and life experience.  Please keep these fellow parishioners in mind.  Contact Jan Duttlinger at for more info or to let us know of job or project opportunities.

Bible Study with Fr. Jake
All are welcome to join Fr. Jake every Tuesday at 6:00pm (following the 5:30pm Mass) in the Church Basement for an enlightening and in-depth reflection of the upcoming Sunday Mass readings.

What are you doing Sunday After Mass?
When was the last time you read Scripture outside of Mass? When was the last time you read from the Catechism? Has it been too long? It's never too late to start! Experienced and beginner Scripture and Catechism readers alike are invited to learn and dis-cuss as a follow-up to the Sunday homily. Sessions are held on Sundays from 10:15-11:25 and from 12:15-1:15 in the music room of the school. Light refreshments are served and it's open-enrollment for adults and teens--drop-in any week!  Child-care is available in the Cathedral basement during the 10:15am sessions. For more info, come and ask or email Colleen at
